Apologies to everyone who continued to read this blog after I promised to keep posting when I returned from France(hi grandmom). I was planning to continue blogging sine I am still a broad though maybe not abroad, but everyday life just isn't as interesting as a a month in France. Not that my life is boring but the interesting things have to accumulate over a much longer span of time. By the time a blog post worth of events have racked up I cant recall what made them interesting in the first place.
So here we are, two years later almost to the day, and this blog is being resurrected from its resting place in the Lana's Too Lazy Cemetery because Drama Queen is venturing abroad once again!
A few months ago I auditioned and was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre's International Exchange Company. Myself and 7 other students from the young conservatory will be traveling to Aberdeen Scotland to workshop and original play being written for us(I'm not actually getting the script till I get to the airport) by a Scottish playwright. We will also be participating in the Youth Art's Festival that is happening in Aberdeen while were there. Upon our return to San Francisco we will perform the play for the A.C.T. I was auditioning along with the rest of the theatre school and A.C.T. is a very well respected company, so I am deeply honored and grateful to be given this opportunity. I'm also brimming with excitement to see Scotland and have the chance to explore another new country. I'm basically doing what I did in France, blogging everyday or every few days to let you know whats happening. This time however I have the advantage of a phone with video recording capabilities so I will be testing out "vlogging" which is video blogging. I'm not sure how that will work out but if you see youtube links on the posts then be prepared to be looking at my ugly mug through a practically fish eye lens.
I leave the day after tomorrow so as usual I've left everything, including this post, to the last minute. Tomorrow I'm running last minute errands, loading Monty Python onto my phone for the plane ride, and recording an audition tape. I will bid you adieu and hopefully saturday you will be blessed with a post introducing you to everyone and with fascinating footage of the airport.
Sincerely,
Drama Queen
